According to him, new magma eruption in 2010 is different from the result of magma eruption in 2006 and earlier. Magma or lava eruption of Merapi in 2010 was predicted to contain 57 percent silica or up 5 percent compared to the eruption of magma in 2006, which contains only 52 percent silica. Therefore, magma eruption of Merapi at this time is more acidic than the previous magma.
"When the dome material clogged the acidic nature of this magma will increase and lead to explosive eruption," he explained.
Because until now the magma was still in the crater and not flow out to form the dome, then the explosive eruption of the Merapi summit is still going to happen. If the crater in which there is magma with 57 percent silica are blocked again, the eruption can not be avoided anymore.
